Hem

A hem is a garment finishing method, where a piece of fabric is folded back and sewn. Probably one of the most common alterations sought by customers, hemming is done to shorten or lengthen an item of clothing. Hems have a variety of styles and finishes, such as having a cuff in the pants, a trimming on a jacket sleeve, or a rolled, narrow hem on a flowy skirt.

Take-in

Taking in seams of a garment aims to make the clothing smaller, narrower, or more fitted on the body. When you have lost weight and you don’t want to buy a new wardrobe, we can take in your favorite clothes to fit you better. When you have purchased a bigger size of clothing, we can take in parts of your garment to fit you better.

Let-out

Letting out seams of a garment means to make more room in your clothing. Pants hem can be let out if you have decided to wear them with taller shoes. The same applies to the waist of the pants when it has felt a little too snug lately. It is good to have a generous allowance in the seams when letting out, but when there are not enough allowances, do consult us and we can be creative in solving your woes.

Taper

To taper is to become smaller or thinner towards one end. It can be done for aesthetic as well as for functional purposes. We can taper your old, baggy wool pants to make it avant garde and modern, or we can taper your jeans just so you can wear your new boots on the outside. Repair

Through normal wear and tear, your clothing deteriorates. Lost buttons and broken zippers can be replaced and holes in your favorite pair of jeans can be patched. Just consult your tailor at CC to breathe new life into your clothing.
